Win a pair of Parkbus tickets

This giveaway (“Promotion”) is governed by the following rules. By entering this giveaway, you agree to comply with these rules and with the decisions of Great Lakes Guide and any giveaway judges (which are final and binding), and with applicable laws.

The ticket giveaway begins at 9:00 AM Eastern Standard Time on July 12, 2019. The giveaway closes at 12:00 AM Eastern Standard Time on September 6, 2019, and entries must be received before then to be eligible. The Promotion is sponsored by Parkbus, Great Lakes Guide, and Swim Guide (“Promotion Sponsors”).

1. General Details. The giveaway is void where prohibited or restricted by law. No purchase is necessary to enter. The chances of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received (and, if the giveaway involves voting or judging, the number of votes cast or the judges’ decisions).


2. Entry. You may enter the giveaway by completing the form on the contest page at greatlakes.guide/contest. By completing the form, you will become a subscriber to the Great Lakes Guide newsletter. The page asks you to provide a short answer (600 characters) to the question, “Tell us your favourite place to visit on the Great Lakes. If you have never visited the Great Lakes before, tell us where you would like to visit.”
   
   If you are a prior subscriber to the Great Lakes Guide newsletter before the contest opening date, you may enter by completing the same form on the contest page at greatlakes.guide/contest. Check the “I am an existing subscriber” box.
   You are solely responsible for ensuring that your entry is properly submitted. You may enter the giveaway only once.


3. Eligibility. The giveaway is open to legal residents of Canada only. Participants must be of or over the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry. No purchase necessary to enter or claim a prize. Internet access is required to participate.


4. Disqualification. Great Lakes Guide may disqualify you if you do not meet the giveaway’s eligibility criteria, do not comply with or attempt to circumvent these rules, attempt to disrupt or undermine the giveaway.


5. Winner. Winners will be selected as set out below. Great Lakes Guide will notify you by email if you have been selected to receive a prize. To be declared a winner and eligible for the prize, you must be in compliance with these rules. If you cannot be contacted, or fail to select a trip with available seats to be completed on or before July 31, 2020, you will forfeit the prize. In the event the winner does not accept the prize within five (5) days of being notified, the winner is ineligible, or the prize or prize notification is not deliverable, an alternate winner may be selected. Great Lakes Guide is not responsible for and shall not be liable for late, lost, misdirected, or unsuccessful efforts to notify winners.
   
   Great Lakes Guide will select a total of 4 giveaway winners on a biweekly basis beginning July 26, 2019. Great Lakes Guide expects to announce the name of the final winner on or around September 6, 2019.


6. Prize. There will be 4 prizes during the promotion period, with a new winner announced every two weeks. Each prize is one pair of round-trip tickets on a Parkbus route within Ontario. The winner is able to choose a trip from the six featured destinations only where there is available seating. Seating availability information can be found at https://www.parkbus.ca/schedules. The prize(s) must be accepted as awarded (with no substitutions), and may not be sold, transferred or converted into cash. Prizes will expire July 31, 2020. Winner will be solely responsible for all accommodations (if applicable), including arrangement of accommodations, at the chosen destination.


7. Cancellation. The Promotion Sponsors may cancel, change, extend or suspend the giveaway if for any reason Promotion Sponsors cannot run the giveaway as planned. If that occurs, the Promotion Sponsors may award the prize at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of impairment, or award no prize.


8. Publicity. Except where otherwise prohibited by law, participation in the giveaway constitutes a winner’s consent to the Promotion Sponsors’ use of the winner’s name and photograph for promotional purposes without further notification, permission, payment or consideration.


9. Personal Information Consent. Any personal information provided to enter the giveaway will be used only to administer the giveaway, for the purposes described in these rules, or as otherwise required or permitted by law, and you consent to Great Lakes Guide using and disclosing your personal information for these purposes. Your personal information will be processed in accordance with Great Lakes Guide’s Privacy and Terms of Use (available at https://greatlakes.guide/about/privacy).


10. Disclaimer. The Promotion Sponsors are not responsible for and do not accept liability for any loss or damage resulting directly or indirectly from: (a) your participation in, or inability to participate in, the giveaway; (b) any lost, delayed, misdirected, illegible, incomplete or undeliverable entries, or any delay or failure to transmit, process, receive or consider entries; (c) any technical failures affecting your participation in the giveaway or the operation of the giveaway; (d) any injury or damage to persons or property caused directly or indirectly from your participation in the giveaway; (e) your receipt, use or redemption of any prize, or your inability to receive, use or redeem any prize; or (f) human error, theft, destruction or other factors beyond the Promotion Sponsors’ control.
    
    The Promotion Sponsors reserve the right to suspend, modify, or cancel the Promotion should any unauthorized intervention or other causes beyond the Promotion Sponsors’ control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper operation of the Promotion. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on an email address, the winning entry will be deemed to be made by the authorized account holder (i.e. the person who is assigned an email address by an internet service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the email address in question) of the email address at the time of entry.


11. Release and Indemnity. By participating in this giveaway you release and agreed to indemnify and hold harmless the Promotion Sponsors, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and their employees, directors, officers, affiliates, agents, judges and advertising and promotional agencies from any damages, injuries, claims, causes of action, liability or losses (including actual legal fees and expenses), known or unknown, absolute or contingent, arising from or related to: (a) your failure to comply with any of these rules; (b) your participation in the giveaway; (c) any misrepresentation you make under these rules or otherwise to Great Lakes Guide; or (d) your receipt, use or redemption of any prize, or your inability to receive, use or redeem any prize.


12. Social Media. You acknowledge that the giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram. You and your giveaway entry must comply with Facebook, Instagram, and/or Twitter’s terms of service You hereby completely release Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram and its owners and operators from all liability. You should direct any questions, comments or complaints about the giveaway to Great Lakes Guide and not Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram.


13. Law and Disputes. These rules are governed by the laws of the province of Ontario and all federal Canadian laws applicable therein for any disputes involving residents of Canada. Any disputes, claims or causes of action arising out of or connected with the giveaway, prize or these rules will be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court of Ontario, Canada. The Promotion Sponsors reserve the right to prosecute or seek damages against any individual who attempts to deliberately undermine the proper operation of the Promotion in violation of these rules and/or criminal and/or civil law.
