Balsam Lake, in the Kawartha Lakes north of Toronto, is the place where I spent all of my summers, all of my formative time growing up with my parents and my sister. We used to go swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing – you name it, I just learned to love water at that place. And that’s what I think engendered my love of water, was Balsam Lake.
