Cootes Paradise is a marsh that helps regulate water levels and water quality. As a member of Stewards of Cootes Watershed, I pick up garbage along creeks tributary to Cootes monthly, and spend many hours doing the same in Cootes itself from my kayak!
I have witnessed the return of bald eagles and salmon due to the clean up efforts of many organizations in the Hamilton area who care about the natural environment.
