My husband and I bought two kayaks last summer and we live in Beacon Hill North, and are fortunately a five minute walk (with kayaks on wheels) to the beautiful Ottawa River where Upper Duck and Lower Duck Islands are. We kayaked to Greens Creek and entered the mouth of the creek only to find ourselves in a totally different place!
As we kayaks further into the Creek it became misty, steamy and rain-forest like and we saw turtles of many sizes lazing on rocks as well as two beavers and herons. It was magical!
