I try to get to the water every day. Having lived in this city for over 20 years now I think of our access to Lake Ontario as one of the city's greatest assets. What a gift it is to be able to bike with my son down to the water's edge and see turtles nesting, geese with their young, watch the migration patterns of different birds. Many experts have commented on how important it is for our children to connect with natural spaces so that they develop a deep appreciation for this planet. How lucky we are to have this expansive wild space be so integral to the place we call home.
