Each summer, we rent a cottage along Lake Huron. At the cottage, my family likes to find beach glass, paint rocks, swim, and take it easy. Sometimes, we have campfires and we always enjoy the stunning sunsets over the lake. This year, going to the cottage was exciting, because with the coronavirus allowing us to do very little, we were still able to enjoy the vacation. The cottage was one of the first times we had gotten away from home in months.

The cottage we rented this year was my favourite one we have been to yet. Not only was the cottage beautiful, it was also along the beach. Even better, my friend’s grandparents owned the cottage next to ours. We were able to enjoy the afternoon at the beach together with my brothers and all of my friend’s cousins. After we had been in the water for a while, my brothers and parents left, and I was with my friend and her cousins, who were going jet skiing. I didn’t want to go with them in the beginning, although after lots of convincing, I gave in. I went with my friend, and her mom drove the jet ski.

The feeling of racing through the water and cutting through the waves was exhilarating. Once we got back to land, we waited for a while, because all her cousins needed a turn. However, once they were done we had the opportunity to go tubing on the back of the jet ski. I loved tubing even more than I loved jet skiing. We bounced up and down as the jet ski sped up. We almost flew off several times, because my friend’s mom was driving like a maniac and hit some massive waves. However, after that thrilling experience I needed to go back to my cottage. I had a wonderful time, and I am extremely glad that I was persuaded to jet ski. That experience by the beautiful blue Lake Huron is one I could never forget.
