When I was 16 there was a posting for a Junior Forest Ranger. You got to go to Lake Wawa and Lake Superior. I was just a new immigrant kid, my mom said no I can’t go off for two months in the summer.
I went anyway and fell in love with Lake Superior, with its beautiful shorelines and watching the sun rise and fall was absolutely breathtaking. Which was actually how I found out there are stars out there.
That is how I fell in love with the wilderness. Since then I’m out every summer doing something with water.
