I've been visiting Oak Lake for my entire life. My great grandparents bought land there neary 70 years ago and it's been where I learned to swim, dive, waterski and much more. All of my water firsts happened there.
This past summer, I didn't get to swim in the lake because invasive species of weeds are taking over and because a pipe full of pig waste broke and drained into the lake. Oak Lake has always been a place of my life for me, my family, and for the turtles, frogs and fish.
