Campbell Lake, Parry Sound, ON

My Watermark is a small river between Campbell Lake and Long Lake (near Parry Sound)

I went kayaking through a couple beaver dams. Through an area of water lilies there was a small turtle sunning on a rock in the middle – it was so quiet, still, peaceful, nothing but the turtle and I. I managed to take the most amazing photo of the turtle in the very clear reflection. It was peace, relaxation, and one with nature (no people).

P.S. Unfortunately on returning to Campbell Lake (where we swim, canoe, and get our water for survival and pleasure), my camera fell out of my life jacket into the lake, but I managed to retrieve it, dry out the card, and now I treasure those pictures. I grew up in water-starved Australia and really treasure the luxury of fresh water.
