My family has a cottage on the Georgian Bay, and I have been going there since I was a young girl. We’ve always had an amazing time there, because our cottage is located directly on the waterfront.
One of our projects have always focussed on the waterfront, and water activities. This could be anything from swimming, sailing and snorkelling to fun time with friends and family on the Georgian Bay.
What drew me to give my watermark is the drastic water level decrease that has occurred in the Georgian Bay. Our cottage has boat access, so the large decline in water levels, has made it difficult to access. Although they have increased slightly over the last few years, I’m not sure if that is a temporary solution or will be a permanent solution for the Georgian Bay area. I want more of an idea of why there has been a change in the water areas.
I just hope for the years to come, the area that I grew up in with great memories, will still be available for future generations.
