In late summer, or early fall, of 1974, my uncle Vern Leonard was the Harbour Master in Tobermory. That year, the Chi-Cheemaun sailed for the first time and we were guests of Uncle Vern’s. I will never forget that day as we voyaged from Owen Sound to Tobermory. My father’s entire family grew up in the TUB, affectionately what we call Tobermory. I will always remember how cold the water can be in July on Georgian Bay and I will also always remember how crystal clean it was.
