My Watermark is Lake Huron at Sauble Beach, Ontario.

When I was young at the beach, I ran across the hot sand, every step burning the bottoms of my feet. I would look at the water, bluer than ever so I decide to jump in. The water is refreshing but nice. I plunge underneath the water with my hand plugging my nose. I felt free where I could literally drown my thoughts, where I couldn’t hear anything, where I felt like I could fly. I remember coming up for a breath and a few seconds later going back under.

When I was young at Sauble Beach, my Dad would join me in the water. He had a water ball and we would pass it back and forth to each other. I remember jumping out of the water and catching the water ball in mid air and coming back down with a plunge. I was underneath the water and yet again I felt the same feeling as before where my mind was clear and I could literally fly. As soon as I got out of the water my sister and I went over to the sand. I layed down and Payton built a sand mermaid tail from my waist down. It was hard not to move because if I did I would crack the sand and Payton would get annoyed and have to build it over again. My mother came over and took some photographs of the mermaid tail that Payton had built and soon after I made my escape and broke free.

When I was young at the beach, I went over with my cousins and we talked amongst ourselves what we should do next. We agreed to jump into the water and boogie board for the rest of the time we had left before we had to head back to the cottage. We all grabbed our boogie boards and we headed out to the water. We went out past the third sand bar and waited for a wave to come scoop us up and bring us back to shore. I waited for a while and then I caught my wave and it was huge. I got ready and the wave took me to the shore line.

I had a very enjoyable day, making new memories at Sauble that year. I can’t imagine no one else having the chance to enjoy the wonderful water at the beach. It would be nice if I could take friends and share the wonders of the water with them. I can’t wait to go again and hopefully future generations will be able to enjoy it!
