My Watermark is Lake Huron at Grand Bend Beach.
When I was Young at the beach, I would take walks around the sparkling green water. While my cousins, Bella and Alex jump and play, my thoughts escape as I watch the happiness all around me. I took pictures with my little camera at the beautiful sunset in front of me. I would then collect my thoughts, surround my bearings and join in on the fun.
When I was young at the beach, my cousins and I would play, but I'm not saying just playing games, I mean swimming, crafting or, painting rocks. We would spray paint all over each other, then run into the lake to wash it all off. We would even create big sandcastles with huge moats and high towers. When the water crashed in and washed it away, we would jump in the lake and splash each other until it was time for lunch.
When I was young at the beach, my sister and I would hunt for beach glass along the sandy beach. They usually wash up along the shore, and there are all types of beach glass. We found that the afternoon is the best time to hunt. There are red, white, green and blue beach glass all over, red and white are the most common but I’ve found tiny pieces of green, blue or fused beach glass.
When I was young at the beach, I remember taking a part of the town’s music concerts and walking around town. I remember looking up at the big stage on my uncle’s shoulders because I couldn’t see, and watching the singers dance and sing the most beautiful songs I ever heard, and then pleading my aunt and grandmother to let me stay. We would also paint big rocks at our small cottage and hide them all over town, looking for more, or we would look around at all the shops, my favourite was the candy shop.
When I was young at the beach, my family and I would play mini putt at the local mini putt center, or play ball on the beach. I remember my little cousin, Alex attempting to push the mini putt ball into the hole. She would not stop until she got it in, which was a while. We would track our scores on tiny sheets of yellow paper, and the winner was never exact. We all would win at least once every time we came to Grand Bend. We would also have contests on the beach for who could throw the ball farthest and fastest, the adults usually won, because us four children, Demetria, Alex, Bella and I could not throw very far.
I still remember Grand Bend and Lake Erie, it has always been a childhood memory of mine. My pictures cannot describe what a lovely experience it is, to let all your worries go away and let the happiness flood into you. I still go there, and relive the memories I made there when I was young at the beach.
