My Watermark is our summer cottage on Lake Huron, just West of Rogers City, Michigan.
My in-laws built it beginning in the late 1950s. It now is large enough to accommodate many members of three generations of their descendants. It has a beautiful beach, pine woods behind, and it's far enough off the highway to be quiet and peaceful most of the time.
We love watching freighters chug by on the horizon, and speedboats and the occasional sailboat heading up to Mackinaw or down to Alpena and beyond. The water usually is cold, but swimmable, and canoes and kayaks are always in season when the wind is calm. It's a magical place that I have enjoyed for nearly 50 years...so far!
