My Watermark is Lake Michigan, Illinois.

I am the Executive Director of Save the Dunes in Northwest Indiana, right on the southernmost tip of Lake Michigan. The first time that I ever saw Lake Michigan, I came up and I interviewed for some place called Save the Dunes – who would have known I’d be Executive Director now? – but after the interview, I ran out and got to see the lake. And I stood there and said: “this is going to be my home”. I’ve settled in Gary, Indiana; I’m three blocks from Lake Michigan. Boy, that’s my latest watermark and there’s no place else I’d rather be.
