Watermark by Ashley Olsen
Collected by Carolyn Withrow
When I was younger the beach in Cobourg was my safe haven and my reflective spot, I was always able to calm down and thing clearly. My family would always spend time at the beach and watch me swim. I later grew up to lifegaurd and teach in that same beach, and pass on what I learned to others. That always makes me very grateful for any and all bodies of water, everything is so precious and we have to protect that.
Watermarks are true stories about you and your connection to a body of water. By archiving your story, you add to a living record of our shared water heritage, protecting these waters for generations to come. So tell us: What is your watermark?

Three of my favourite memories there are swimming and playing water basketball with a blow up net, canoeing up the shore line, and going fishing.
