My family has a cottage on the Ottawa River, in the Whitewater Region, so growing up I always played in the water. My oldest memory however, is probably from around 2011, when I was about 9 years old. This is when my younger sister and I invented a sport which we called logging. Essentially we found logs on the side of the river, we strapped as many lifejackets to them as we could, and then we raced them using kayak paddles. Ever since then I can't remember a single trip to my cottage where we didn't go in the river at least once, no matter the weather.
