My ancestors helped build the dam on the Ottawa River and proceeded to become lumberjacks on the river for about 100 years. They were lumberjacks from the 1860’s to about 1910. As a professional photographer, I photographed last month the first time in 500 years an Algonquin woman dancing and performing ceremonies in the middle of the Chaudiere Falls. It took me about a year to work it, and it will be released somehow, perhaps at next year’s Riverkeeper Gala.
