Joy Marritt Parkette

Beach

Joy Marritt Parkette (formerly Church Street Parkette) is located in Keswick within the community of Craigmawr Beach. It is a small parkette on Lake Simcoe in Cook’s Bay, the lake’s southernmost bay. This parkette offers a grassy area and picnic tables.

Joy Marritt was a lifelong resident of Keswick, a practical nurse, and a member of one of the pioneer families established in the 1870s. The Church Street Parkette was the former site of her residence, and was sold to the town in 1977. The renaming of the parkette pays tribute to the Marritt family for their significant role in the town's development, history, and heritage.
