Waubuno Beach is located in the town of Parry Sound on the Georgian Bay shoreline. This sandy beach can be accessed from Prospect Street and is commonly referred to as "New Town Beach" by locals. The beach has a buoyed swimming area and has lifeguard supervision (from Canada Day until Labour Day Weekend) so it is a great place for families. There is also a playground, snack bar, washroom and change facilities, and free parking. The beach gets its name from the Algonquin word for "black magician"or "sorcerer".

When I was young at the beach it was relaxing and I never wanted to go home and I imagined what life would be like living on the beach. I would jump into the waves and splash around like a 5 year old which I was at the time, so it sort of made sense.
