Hillman Marsh Conservation Area

Park

Hillman Marsh Conservation Area is located next to Lake Erie, just minutes from Point Pelee National Park. With over 5 km of trails, a nature centre, and viewing towers, Hillman Marsh is an excellent location for environmental education and outreach. The region is used to educate students from across the region on environmental conservation. The marshland habitat is an ideal destination for migrating shorebirds. In fact, there are over 100 species of birds, including herons, terns, egrets, bald eagles, and a wide variety of songbirds. There is a shorebird celebration in May where the public can witness this flurry of migratory activity. Visitors also stop to experience the wildflowers and butterflies in the spring and summer months. On top of the wildlife viewing, there are many other activities for you to enjoy such as swimming, paddling, and crosscountry skiing in the winter!
