Meisel Woods Conservation Area is a stunning 130 acre property located on the epic Canadian Shield. The park is filled with dense, natural forest surrounding a 60 acre lake, known as Beaver or Bass Lake. Over 5 km of well-marked trails wind their way through the forests, offering spectacular views of the lake. A boardwalk crosses the wetland habitat in the north, while the rugged trails and footbridges bring you closer to the lake. Meisel Woods Conservation Area is home to a wide variety of plant and animal species, a strong example of the Tay and Rideau Watershed habitats. Explore the region by hiking, cycling, or snowshoeing in the winter. Picnic tables and benches line the trails, so you can stop for a relaxing picnic and enjoy the scenery along the way.
