Mountjoy Conservation Area

Park

Mountjoy Historical Conservation Area is a charming 17 acre greenspace located on the shores of the Mattagami River. In the 1960s the region was flooded, resulting in the removal of the businesses and residences situated in the flood plain. This removal allowed for the development of the greenspace that now spans the region. Today, Mounjoy Historical is an ideal location for picnicking, paddling, leisurely walks, and relaxing afternoons in nature. HIke along the trails that connect to the surrounding community trail system, or head out onto the water to explore by canoe or kayak. The park even includes outdoor stationary exercise equipment and sports fields! There is something for everyone in Mounjoy Historical Conservation Area.
