A hiker’s haven and a birder’s delight: come one, come all to Scanlon Creek Conservation Area! This 300 hectare park includes a creek, a scenic lookout, hilly terrain with mixed forest, and nature preserve for flora and fauna. Its recreational opportunities include: trails and boardwalk for a hike, a relaxing walk, and snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter, an off-leash dog park, an arboretum and native pollinator garden, and Discovery Play Garden for kids and the young at heart. This area is extremely beautiful in fall, with vibrant colours of changing leaves. Amenities include two fully accessible washrooms and two picnic pavilions with tables. The trail system is extensive, and covers most of the park’s area. Plenty of birds and wildlife can be seen here, so bring your camera!
