Shade's Mills Conservation Area

Shade’s Mill Conservation area is beautiful day-use park located along Mill Creek. It is an ideal destination for water recreation and hiking along the 12 km of trails. Within the park is an 90 acre reservoir, created by the construction of the Shade’s Mill dam. The reservoir has become a popular spot for swimming, paddling, and fishing year-round! Kayaks, canoes, and stand up paddleboards are available to rent. Visitors also enjoy cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter through the mature hardwood forests. The park offers an easy getaway from the busy cities. Stop by for a game of volleyball, a picnic in the shade, or an afternoon of relaxing on the sandy beach.
