Vanderwater Conservation Area

Park

Vanderwater Conservation Area is a picturesque spot on the banks of the Moira River. The park spans a vast 635 acres, just east of the city of Thomasburg, Ontario. Open year-round, the park is especially popular in the winter months due to its superb cross-country skiing trails. Former campsides line the riverbank, providing excellent, shady picnic spots. Beautiful rapids flow down the river and visitors can walk out onto the unique cracked limestones for an up-close view of the surrounding scenery. A paved path throughout the park is perfect for an afternoon bike ride, while the 15 km of winding trails will take you through the coniferous, hardwood, and mature cedar forests.
