My Watermark is spending my childhood at the Detroit River in Windsor, ON.
We had a small boat and would spend weekends out on the river fishing or boating. As I got older, I had the chance to see the river change over time and grew to appreciate it more. Over the past few years, much of my research has been in the Detroit River and during this time, I have a not only learned so much more about the ecology of this connecting channel, but also how vital it is to our every day lives and how important it is to protect this. I will always remember this river as home and the place that first started my lover for aquatic ecology.
