My Watermark is the Kingston Waterfront of Lake Ontario.
My most powerful memory of the Kingston Waterfront was the time: when "My beak was bigger than my belly can!"
In 1959, while living in Portsmouth I decided to try to "swim out" to Snakes Island from Lake Ontario Park. I figured I would be ok so I took flippers, some snacks, and oh yes, 'an air mattress!' It turned out to be a very long day! By 7pm it was very dark and I was not going to make it there. Sunset was coming in and I decided to give it a try. I was realistically about only 1/3 of the way there. Guess who got his bottom warmed when I walked backed to the house at about 11:30 pm--totally exhausted!
