I didn’t grow up in Ottawa but came to Ottawa for University. Following University I went to Korea for a couple years and came back to Ottawa in 2007. I lived within a few hundred metres of the river and, as I enjoy fishing, I would go everyday to the river just behind Library & Archives Canada. It’s a popular spot for fishing and it’s amazing how many different species of fish you catch within only a couple of hours. There was one time I caught at least 5 or 6 different species of fish.
The spot itself is a bit of an oasis right in the middle of downtown. It’s wonderful and fortunate to have a spot right downtown where you can be away from the hustle and noise only metres away.
