My Watermark is the Ottawa River between Britannia and Victoria Island.
This waterbody is important to me because I’ve paddled it hundreds of times. Actually, I used to commute to work on that stretch of river. If it was high water I would take a covered solo canoe, and in really low water I would take a boat I could paddle up stream because it’s hard to get up the rapids. So on the way there it would be about 40 minutes, but on the way home it could take upwards of an hour and 20 minutes due to the rapids.
