Hi, my name's Emily, and water has been a big part of my life every since I was a kid. I used to go to the beach, I went to Myrtle Beach every year for March Break, for about five years. Then I started rowing at the Ottawa Rowing Club in Grade 9. So ever since I was fifteen I was really in touch with the Ottawa River.
I built a family around that river with my rowing team, and we started learning about the effects that the water has on different people. When I joined the Youth Water Leaders Program, I noticed that everybody is in touch with the water in different parts of their lives. I'm in touch with it more so with sports, Naomi is in touch with it with her community. A lot of different people have different connections to the water.
