For the last 25 years I’ve lived right on the banks of the Ottawa River. My life revolves around the river: my business (adventure tourism) relies on the river and my water for my house comes straight from the river as well. I’m very concerned about the river’s wellbeing on a personal, professional, and public level.
I own a whitewater rafting company and we entice people from all around the world to come to the Pontiac, which is a remote area of western Quebec, to share the Ottawa River with them. Apart from that, we get them in touch with the natural world, they become immersed in the beauty of the river, and we believe they leave becoming positive advocates for our rivers, our region, and our planet.
