Big Pine Day Use Area is near the Hiawatha National Forest. The forest borders three different Great Lakes (Superior, Michigan, Huron) and boasts more than 100 miles of shoreline. Big Pine beach is sandy and littered with coloured stones. Picnic tables, grills, and benches are available for visitors.
