Providence Bay Beach

Beach

This beach is the most well-known beach on Manitoulin Island and is often referred to as “the best beach in Ontario.” It is a popular and well-visited beach by both locals and visitors to the island. Its name is shared with Providence Bay which was named when survivors of a shipwreck landed on shore. While it’s former name, Bebekodawangog, was given by early native residents which translates to “where the beach curves around the water.” There are plenty of inns nearby and a playground close by the edge of the town of Providence Bay. The beach features the Harbour View centre, a wheelchair accessible boardwalk, adult exercise equipment, washrooms, a picnic area, and parking.
