Sheridan Park Beach

One of the best parks in the Milwaukee area, Sheridan Park offers great amenities and access to Lake Michigan. Named after the Civil War General, the park’s numerous amenities include sporting fields and courts, restrooms, picnic pavilions, a swimming pool, access to the oak leaf trail system, and a native plant garden.

The small pond in the park was built in the 1930’s for model boat racing. Today, the pond still has a model boat launch and is open for fishing with the appropriate DNR fishing license. Beach access from the park is via a walking path from the main parking lot down the bluff to the beach. The beach, although narrow, provides amazing views of the lake. This beach is perfect for those wanting to take a few minutes out of their day to enjoy a beautiful walk with your dog or a friend or sit by and take in the views.

The park and beach are open from 6am-10pm daily.

The beach is open for swimming, but is not staffed with lifeguards. Be sure to swim within your ability and obey all posted rules while visiting the beach. Be sure to check the local weather forecast at: https://www.weather.gov/mkx/ and pay attention to changing weather and water conditions.
