Falls Reserve Conservation Area

Park

Falls Reserve Conservation Area is a vast 230 acre property located near Goderich, Ontario. This park is home to an old-growth forest; possibly the only remaining old growth forest in the Maitland watershed! These forests are made up of 300 year old Eastern White Cedar trees that thrive along the exposed rock of the limestone cliffs. The region is also an important stop for migratory birds and offers excellent birdwatching opportunities. Keep your eyes peeled for Bald Eagles as they soar over the meandering river. The conservation area itself is nearly entirely enclosed by the Maitland River that winds its way through the forested landscape. The river cascades over a number of small waterfalls, creating an exciting one-of-a-kind swimming area! Renowned as a fabulous camping destination, Falls Reserve boasts over 180 campsites and plenty of opportunities for fun year-round. Visitors enjoy fishing, hiking and cycling the trails, swimming next to the waterfalls, and playing on the fields, horseshoe pits, and volleyball areas. The park is also close to the Goderich to Auburn Rail Trail, lakefront boardwalk, and Goderich beaches.
