Located on the shores of a large lake, this Provincial Park is a great place to camp, paddle, and stretch out on the beach. Nestled just south of Algonquin park, Lake St. Peter Provincial Park gives its visitors a more secluded and less-traveled feel. The beautiful sandy beaches are great for swimming and fishing in the summer heat, especially after a scenic walk through the winding park trails. If you are lucky enough to get a campsite on the shoreline, make sure to catch the outstanding sunsets over the lake. This park protects two ecologically significant areas: an upland deciduous forest, and a wetland ecosystem. Both ecosystems are home to many native and rare Ontario animals and plants. In the upland forest, you will see sugar maples, white and red pine, large-toothed aspen, balsam fir, white spruce, and white birch. The lowland wetlands include a variety of communities, such as bogs, fens, marshes, and swamps. You can also enjoy winter activities in this park. Please contact the park for more details.
