Mcrae Point Provincial Park is set on a small peninsula on Lake Simcoe, and is a scenic summer playground for swimming, hiking, fishing, and paddling. In this park, you can choose from a variety of camping spots. There are some found deep in the forest, near the lakes edge, and others in a beautiful, open meadow. A neat feature to explore is the drumlin on the south side of the park. It is covered with a hardwood forest that drains into a marsh and wetland. As you walk along the Water’s Edge Trail, keep your eyes open for yellow-throated vireos and rattlesnake fern. The trail winds around the point, past the park beach, and by the south shore of McPhee Bay. If you need to cool off during your walk, take a break at the beautiful beach and go for a dip in the clear waters of Lake Simcoe. You can also enjoy winter activities in this park. Please contact the park for more details.
