Sheppard's Bush Conservation Area

Park

Sheppard’s Bush is a walker’s delight, and a wonderful green space for hiking, birding, cycling and sports. This 65 acre conservation area has over 3 km of hiking trails - from here, you can venture as far as Holland Landing on the Nokiidaa Trail, or from Palgrave to Rice Lake on the Oak Ridges Trail. Sheppard’s Bush is mostly mixed forest with mature pine, and features an old sugar bush and ravine along the river. The park boasts 11 soccer fields, 2 picnic pavilions, a historic log cabin, heritage home and community heritage garden, and several historic buildings: including the Sheppard family house, and maple syrup evaporator hut! A great day outing for families, nature lovers, and history buffs alike!
