Dorset Scenic Lookout Tower is a must-see in Southern Ontario. This popular day-trip spot is home to a fantastic 142m high tower, offering 360 degree views of the surrounding area.

The most popular time to visit the tower is autumn, and it’s easy to see why. As you stand high above the treetops, you are greeted to unmatched views of the forests and rivers of the Algonquin Highlands. The Lake of Bays wraps itself around the park, dotted with tiny islands and on cooler days mist will hang magically over the treetops.

The tower is closed in the winter months, so make sure you plan your trip for spring, summer, or autumn.

    People and the Lakes

Once we got out to the middle of the water, away from the trees - I looked up and saw an impossibly clear sky freckled with stars. I didn't even know that many stars existed! I can only describe it as a moment of complete awe as we both sat, stunned in silence.
