Chaumont Village Beach

Beach

Welcome to Chaumont Bay, the largest freshwater bay on earth! The fishing in this area is regarded as some of the best on the Great Lakes. Nature lovers will enjoy the nearby Chaumont Barrens, one of the last alvar grasslands on earth. This prairie-like landscape has very little top soil. If you look closely, you can find ancient marine fossils in the rocks.

*This beach is set to grey because water sampling information is unavailable. Always obey signs posted at the beach.*
