East Tawas City Park was first known as the East Tawas State Park. It wasn’t until 1965 when the State purchased property on Tawas Point and moved the State Park to that location did the park become East Tawas City Park. Today the park provides the public with a 1600-foot sandy beach that has volleyball nets, horseshoe pits, biking pathways, and playground equipment.
