This beach was named after Halli Reid, the first woman to swim across Lake Erie in 1993. The beach has picnic areas, a playground, washrooms, volleyball nets and a snack bar. It is guarded from 10 am to sunset every day from June 4th to Labour Day. After a visit to the beach, visit the close by Lake Shore Railway Historical Museum to learn about the locomotive industry. North East is also called Wine Country, and the annual Wine Festival is a celebration of the region’s major industry, the festival has parades, art shows and wine tastings.

Lake Erie throws a veil of peace, of belonging over my head and draws me in, makes me feel like I am a part of nature, a part of her world.
