Straits State Park

This state park is located on Church Street, in the City of St. Ignace, Michigan, south of US-2, and is a perfect spot for swimming, hiking, camping or simply enjoying the breathtaking views of the Mackinac Bridge. While at the park, make sure to check out the Father Marquette Memorial, which tells the story of the meeting of French and Native American cultures in the 17th-century. Ferries to Mackinac Island, a featured attraction of the area, can be found just a ½ mile from the park. Visitors can stay overnight in one of the 255 modern camping facilities complete with fire rings, picnic tables and electricity. Additional facilities include four modern toilet buildings with showers, two sanitation stations and a playground.
