Thompson's West End Park

Beach

Located on the site of three former lumber yard docks, Thompson’s West End park sits on the south side of Washburn. The park has a range of amenities including a swimming beach, picnic pavilion, restrooms, artesian well, playground, campground and a boat launch.

The park and beach offer expansive views of Vandeventer Bay and is linked to the Washburn Marinina via the Washburn Lakefront Walking Trail. The campground is best suited for larger campers and RVs. Those hoping to use a tent should explore some of the other campgrounds managed by the city. Additionally there is a fee to utilize the boat launch.

Dogs are allowed at the park as long as they are leashed. Please clean up after your pet. The park is open from 7am-10pm daily.

There are no lifeguards on duty at the park so swimming is done at your own risk. Additional questions can be directed to the City of Washburn at 715-373-6160.

Please be sure to read and observe all posted regulations. Prior to enjoying your day at the beach or on the water, please check the local weather forecast and be attentive to changing conditions.
