Washburn Walking Trail (BAB)

Beach

This hiking trail connects Thompson’s Park and beach with the city’s marina. The trail meanders along the lakeshore and exposes hikers to a more natural, wooded setting than the parks it connects. A crushed limestone or dirt surface adds to the natural setting, while informational signs along the way provide hikers with information about the area's natural and human history. The western portion of the trail has been improved to ADA specifications. Dogs are allowed on the trail provided they are leashed and cleaned up after.

The real prize of this trail is the secluded beach you will encounter about halfway between the marina and Thompson’s Park. The beach, although small, is sandy and provides amazing views of the bay. Please be sure to pack out all trash while using the beach or the trail.

Please be sure to read and observe all posted regulations. Prior to enjoying your day at the beach or on the water, please check the local weather forecast and be attentive to changing conditions. Additional questions can be directed to the City of Washburn at 715-373-6160.
