Virmond County Park Beach

Just north of Milwaukee, in the town of Mequon lies a beautiful county park that has some of the best views of Lake Michigan in all of Southern Wisconsin. Virmond Park, named for the landowner who donated the lakefront property for the enjoyment of the public, boasts recreational fields and courts, a picnic pavilion, walking trails and some of the area's best bird watching opportunities.

Access to the beach is set to reopen for the 2023 swimming season, access is currently closed due to erosion issues along the park’s bluff. This small beach will be perfect for those looking to take a quick dip, or enjoy a few quiet moments by the lake. The beach will be accessible via a staircase down the bluff to the water. The great amenities of the park, combined with amazing views and renewed lake access, beginning in 2023, make this beach and park worth the stop.

The county park has no admission fees, though use of the pavilion facility requires a reservation.

The park has restrooms and drinking water available during the summer months and a portable restroom is available for use during the winter.

Dogs are allowed to visit the park provided that they remain on leash.

The park is open between 6am and 9pm year round.
