Eramosa Karst Conservation Area

Park

Are you looking for adventure and exploration? You’ve come to the right place! Eramosa Karst Conservation area is a stunning natural gem within the Niagara Escarpment. Here, you will find underground caves, streams, meadows, and thick forests. Traverse the 7 km of trails, over bridges and boardwalks, and explore the area’s unique environment and history. Underground passages will take you back in history, among the largest number of unique underground drainages (Karsts) in the province of Ontario. These unique geological formations — including a cave that is 335 m long — were created within the limestone of the Niagara Escarpment as the rocks dissolved over time. The conservation area has been designated as an area of Natural and Scientific Interest by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and you can learn about the region along the way with the many interpretive displays that line the trail.
