Park

Lake Laurentian Conservation Area is a massive 2,400 acre protected green spaces located within the Greater Sudbury region. A mere ten minutes from the downtown area, this park is an easy nature getaway! Despite being so close to the city, Lake Laurentian gives visitors that wondrous feeling of remoteness and tranquility. Immerse yourself in nature among wetlands and man-made lakes and ponds. Explore the area by hiking, cycling, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing along the extensive 60 km of trails. The well-marked trails also lead to some stunning outlooks, including the Beaver Pond Loop that takes you up close to a beaver dam with fantastic views of Lake Laurentian. Along with beavers, keep your eyes peeled for foxes, deer, and the many birds that live amongst the trees!
