Lake On The Mountain Provincial Park

Park

This park contains one of Ontario’s natural wonders: a lake with an endless flow of clean, fresh water, but with no obvious source. Since the lake is at the peak of a mountain, there is no way for water to flow to it, so it has become a somewhat of legend. This amazing waterbody is called “The Lake on the Mountain”, and is located in Prince Edward County, high above Lake Ontario.

It is nothing short of spectacular to look out at the vast north shore of Lake Ontario from a height of 60m, and turn your head to see a bright turquoise lake glistening beside you. Not only that, but this mountain lake measures 60m deep. This means that the deepest point of the lake reaches the same height as the surface of lake Ontario! To see this truly natural curiosity, pack up a picnic basket and head out to explore this wondrous park in Prince Edward County.
